Hand doodled speech bubbles in the header.

You nailed the simplicity and elegance area and I like the contrasting colours.

I like the doodles but I feel you could push it more on creativity. Maybe a table top texture in the background with the doodles written on it?

I also don't like the blue box in the header, I can't see it's purpose except to show more of the doodles. That's not a good enough reason in my opinion.

The navigation fonts look bland, try something sexy: [link]

Overall, nice design and kudos on following instructions but you get points for breaking the rules as long it's a good reason :P

The layout overall is great! But don't repeat your images and text and also change your font. Use a web 2.0 font.

e.g.

Headings: Georgia
Navigation: similar or related font as logo's
Content: Lucida Sans, Myriad Pro, Segoe UI
Footer: Arial or same font as navigation

I actually included the blue box to try and make it flow better after some discussions with Osec last night. To be honest, I think there may be a better way, look out for more experimentation in the next few days.
