Phew, done.... now I really really need to get some sleep, its 6 am, and I promised myself I'd be in bed by at least 2am.

Please enjoy. Over 250 layers of blood sweat and tears.

Though, I do intend to refine a few things further. The Navigation I'm not happy with, but that's not a real biggie. Haven't shown any of the roll-over effects for some of the areas, but that's no biggie either, kept on saying I'd go back and do them once I'd finished off the last section, but it didn't turn out like that. Heh :)

Edit:

Changed a few things:

Hover Over effects now visible, you can see these on the:
2nd paragraph of the news area, click and it'll take you to the full version on a separate page.
2nd entry in the Hot Forum Topics.
3rd entry in the Latest Articles.

Icons next to each of the major sections.

Navigation changed, darker bar, and I changed the current page background. I also added two ~ to either side of the tab text.

Added in "handy links" to the Join section.

Edit again, a few changes here and there, all for the best, hope you like.

Edit yet again (3rd time now? or 4th?): Indentation on a few things put in. Modified font on the shield. Rearranged the Other area. Reworked some of the featured design bit.

Edit 4: Navigation and other box re-done. Navigation looks damn cool now, at least I think so anyway ;p.

Edit 5 (eh, heh): Fixed the alignment in the navigation bar, put in a colour change on General to indicate that's the main section you're at.

Edit 6 (wow... heh): Changed the navigation to use the Tabs like some people have been asking, however I'm still retaining the black curved bottom rectangle.

Edit 7 (well, this is getting repetitive): Changed the news box to a 3 by 2. Also changed the drop down parts of the Article, Forum and News boxes to match the navigation bar.

Edit 8 : Changed news box to a 1 thing, but you can scroll through them all. Navbar changed from fugly combo box. Featured Deviation area a bit more streamlined.

Edit 9: Navbar changed [almost in double figures! yay... :|]

Done, finished, no more refinements
Though, any comments on how to improve for future designs, much appreciated.

This is sexy, though I would like to see the logo have more IMPACT (rather than a simple pixel couch, maybe a photo?)!

I like how the content is broken up, and the navigation looks fine to me. Nice work :D

Cheers, I really liked this version, couldn't stop myself from finishing it off. Which meant I didn't get to bed until well past 6am last night :D

and out from the darkness comes a designer that challenges the likes of *Kwaku and ~keithar bring us his own style and vision for dC to the table.

I'm impressed by the clean style, simple but yet stylish navigation and use of white space.
